Tesla Model S: Shield - Dust - Brake - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)
Warning: If the vehicle
has air suspension, activate "Jack" mode on the touchscreen before
raising and supporting the vehicle.
Note: This procedure
describes how to remove and replace the front dust shields. For
instructions on how to retrofit the 2nd generation dust shields,
refer to procedure 33012006
(refer to procedure).
Removal

Remove the brake rotor
(refer to procedure).

Remove the screws (x2 or x3) that secure the
front brake dust shield to the knuckle (torque 8 Nm).
Note:
Components have been removed in this graphic to aid
clarity.

Remove the front brake dust shield.
Installation
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal,
except for the following:

affected areas before installation.

Remove the front hub assembly
(refer to procedure).
Install the dust shield using the 2 existing
holes in the knuckle (torque 8 Nm).
Note: This procedure
applies to vehicles with the vacuum brake booster only. If the
vehicle has the electromechanical brake booster assembly, the
master cylinder and reservoir assembly
