Tesla Model S: Module - Air Suspension - ECU (RHD) (Remove and Install)
Warning: If the 12V power supply is disconnected, do
not attempt to open any doors with door glass in closed position.
Failure to follow this instruction could result in door glass
shatter.
Note: Before disconnecting the 12V power supply,
ensure that the driver's door window is fully open. Failure to
follow this instruction could result in vehicle lockout.
Removal
- Move the passenger seat to its rearmost position.
- Disconnect 12V power.
- Rear wheel drive (RWD): Refer to
procedure.
- Dual Motor: Refer to procedure.
- Remove the LH footwell cover (refer to procedure).
- Remove the LH sill panel trim (refer to procedure).
- Carefully peel back the front LH carpet for access.
Caution: Take care not to damage component(s).
- Remove the bolts (x3) that secure the module cover panel.
- Release the bolts (x3) that secure the ECU bracket (torque 8
Nm).
- Disconnect the harness connectors (x2) from the front of the
ECU.
- Gently lift up on the bracket and remove the ECU from the
vehicle.
Note: At this point, the ECU is free from
the vehicle. Refer to Service Manual procedure
17152802 to remove the bracket from the ECU.
Installation
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.

Removal
Remove the active suspension ECU (refer to procedure).
Remove the RH center console closeout extension (refer to
procedure).

immediately.

Warning: "Jack mode" must be activated on vehicles with air
suspension before lifting the vehicle. Failure to do this might lead
to suspension damage and could cause serious personal injury.
Note: Vehicles with air suspension might need the
suspension to be set to "High" or "Very High"
