Tesla Model S: Disconnect 12V Power (Dual Motor)

Warning: If the 12V power supply is disconnected, do not attempt to open any doors with door glass in closed position. Failure to follow this instruction could result in door glass shatter.

Note: Before disconnecting the 12V power supply, ensure that the driver's door window is fully open. Failure to follow this instruction could result in vehicle lockout.

Disconnect

  1. Open the front trunk.
  2. Turn off the climate control system.
  3. Fully open the driver's window.
  4. Close all doors.
  5. Remove the underhood storage unit (refer to procedure).
Warning: If the 12V power supply is disconnected, do not attempt to open any doors with door glass in closed position. Failure to follow this instruction could result in door glass shatter.

Note: Before disconnecting the 12V power supply, ensure that the driver's door window is fully open. Failure to follow this instruction could result in vehicle lockout.

  1. Disconnect the 12V battery ground connection (torque 5 Nm).
  2. Disconnect the first responder loop (X536). Do not cut the loop.
  3. Wait at least 2 minutes for all electrical circuits to fully discharge. Warning: Before working on any high voltage components, perform the Electrical Isolation Procedure (refer to procedure).
Connect

Note: Connect is reverse of disconnect.

    Removal Remove the LH underhood apron (refer to procedure). Remove the RH underhood apron. Release the clips (x5) that secure the rear center underhood apron to the plenum. Remove the rear center underhood apron

     Assembly - Mirror - Sun Visor - LH (Remove and Replace)

    Removal Fold down the sun visor. Starting at the top of the mirror assembly, use a trim tool to pry the mirror assembly from the sun visor. Installation Installation procedure is the reverse of removal
