Tesla Model S: Air Line - Air Suspension - Compressor to Valve Block (Remove and Replace)

Warning: To avoid personal injury, eye protection must be worn when performing this operation.

Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle (refer to procedure).
  2. Disconnect 12V power.
    • Rear wheel drive (RWD): Refer to procedure.
    • Dual Motor: Refer to procedure.
  3. Remove the underhood storage unit (refer to procedure).
  4. Release the fitting from the valve block (torque 3.5 Nm).

    Caution: Plug the line connection to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.

  5. Remove the front aero shield (refer to procedure).
  6. Release the air line clip between the valve block and the compressor.
  7. Release the fitting from the compressor (torque 3.5 Nm).

    Caution: Plug the line connection to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

  • Install new fittings into the compressor and valve block before installing the air line.

    Note: Ensure that the collet is 4.3 mm from the end of the air line to prevent air pressure restriction.

    Warning: If the vehicle has air suspension, activate "Jack" mode on the touchscreen before raising and supporting the vehicle. Removal Remove the wheel (refer to procedure). Remove the cap and inner core from the valve to deflate the tire.

     Limited deceleration when accelerator is released

    OK to drive - Use brake pedal as needed Regenerative braking performance is temporarily reduced.
