Tesla Model S: Side Applique - 2nd Generation - LH (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Partially raise the liftgate to access the back of the applique.
  2. Pull up on the back of the applique to release the clips and remove the applique.
  3. Add a mark to the underside of the applique to indicate that is has been removed.

Caution: The 2nd generation side applique can only be removed and reinstalled 10 times before it must be replaced due to damage to the clips. If there are already 9 or more marks on the underside of the applique, replace it.

Installation
  1. Ensure that the underside of the applique has no more than 9 marks. Caution: Replace the applique if it has 10 or more marks on its underside.
  2. Starting from the front of the applique, press down on the applique to engage the clips. Caution: If the applique does not feel securely attached after installation, remove and replace it with a new applique.
  3. Close the liftgate.
